Yuma
He is a sweet boy who arrived at Rough Start on 7/21 with his herd mate Shikoba. Yuma was purchased on accident and Eventually abandoned . Yuma is a unique, special boy because on his left back leg he does not have a white sock, but instead a grey one! He truly has odd, beautiful coloring. When he was brought in, Yuma was fairly under weight, and in person you can count his ribs and spinal vertebre. Yuma has never been handled by people and flinchs away from

Jubilee Kenez - "Julie"Meet Julie! Julie is completely broke and would make an excellent child's mount. Julie may be up in her senior years but still has a lot more to give, and hasn't lost any fire! Julie is a sweet mindful girl, and will tolerate almost anything immediately, and if she encounters something new, she takes it in stride. MollyMolly is a very special girl, and is one of a set of twins. She is the smaller of the two and has a liver condition which is easily maintained with a low protein diet. Molly came in as an under-nourished foal with her mother and brother. Molly has been at Rough Start for the last three years and is ready to go to her new home, and start her training. Shikoba:Shikoba came from the same situation as Yuma, she was also purchased from the Daveport Auction. Her feet are feathered and she is built very small. We believe that Shikoba is more Mustang and Arab than anything else, however she came off of a reservation so we can't know for sure. She has had no handling as far as human contact either, and at their previous owner's Shikoba was kept in a
10x5 pen, and was so scared of humans that she rammed herself into a few fences and even jumped one, just to get away from us. Luckily Shikoba sustained no injuries and has calmed down very much in the last couple months. She has a very gentle manner and will be a great horse for anyone who takes the time to work with her!

Star:Star is a very quick learning boy who very much loves to please! Seeking human attention constantly he is a very in your pocket pony, however respects boundaries! Star is very quick to pick up on any training and is very easy to handle. Star has a umbilical hernia which would require a very minor surgery in order to fix, however is in no pain. Before being saddle broke however this would need to be fixed. Star is a Quarter Horse Cross and has a trot to die for. If trained right he would make a very lovely cart horse, or even a great childrens horse. Star is not done growing and still could gain a couple hands, but only time will tell. Winnie:Winnie is an extremely special for multiple reasons. The most obvious is that she has one eye. Winnie was adopted almost immediately after coming into the rescue and her former adopters did not get the medical care she required, and returned her a few months later saying she was absolutely unmanageable. When we found Winnie for the second time, she was caked in mud and manure and her once slightly infected eye had retreated completely into its socket. Upon further inspection we have found that Winnie has lost 90% of her vision in her right eye. Winnie also has a umblical hernia, and require minor surgery. Winnie is still completely willing to learn and will be able to be ridden after her hernia is fixed. One eyed horses make some of the best trail buddies as their senses are all that much sharper!
